Taylor Shiells We are excited to introduce our new team member Taylor Shiells. Taylor is joining our Customer Support team.  Who knows, you may be hearing from him if you send in a request via our support site. Welcome to the team Taylor!

Tell us a little bit about your background?
Writing has been a core part of my professional life for the better part of a decade. I’ve worked in software writing, marketing, journalism, and support before coming to Walker Tracker. Before that, I lived in my hometown of Santa Barbara, California.

What brought you to Portland and how long have you lived in Portland?
After I knew that writing was where I wanted to take my career, I came to Portland three years ago to get my master’s degree in technical and professional writing. Since then, I’ve fallen in love with the region’s comfortable chill, great beer, and celebration of inclusivity.

What do you like to do in your spare time?
I’m a die-hard fan of horror movies, particularly the effects-driven golden age of the late 80s and early 90s home video era. When friends can drag me away from Yuzna and Argento, though, I enjoy tabletop games, bar-hopping, and figure painting.

Do you have a fun fact you would like to share about yourself?
I volunteer to help trap, neuter, and release feral cats to control populations without harming animals. Remember to spay and neuter your pets!

How do you like to stay active?
I like to set up a laptop on a treadmill so that I can walk while I write. It’s a great way to engage my body and mind for better focus. I’m very self-conscious, and I always had difficulty getting active with heavy exercise or sports. By starting small and working physical activity into my existing hobbies, though, I built a workout regimen that fits with my schedule and gives me more control over my body and life.
