Last month, Walker Tracker was honored to sponsor the Special Olympics Europe Eurasia Leadership Conference. Stimulated by the theme of the conference “Inclusion in Motion,” participants were challenged with collectively walking 1 million steps within the two days of the event.

Encouraged by Special Olympics Athlete leaders, participants walked, ran, and converted activities such as beach volleyball, yoga, and swimming into steps using the Walker Tracker activity converter feature to be counted towards the challenge goal. Walker Tracker is proud to have partnered with Special Olympics in supporting their challenge and sharing principles of acceptance and inclusion of all people in sports and daily life.

So, how did they do?

“Yes, we made it and it was a fantastic experience. All participants collectively contributed to the challenge and were motivated to reach the goal of 1 million steps. People took the stairs instead of the elevator, went running in the morning and were walking around the hotel in the middle of the night to get their daily steps together,” shared Bjoern Koehler, Senior Manager for the Special Olympics Health Programs Europe/Eurasia region.

They actually exceeded their goal and reached over 1.5 Million steps! Congratulations to all the participants, you were all winners!
