Our map-based competitions show the place you’re in – along the course but also at the finish line. This place number is based on how many steps you or your team walked in the competition, not, as in a race, the time you crossed the finish line.
After all, we’re more interested in step averages and overall physical activities levels, and not how fast you got there.
That said, we’ve found ourselves in the position frequently lately of having to determine exactly when a team has crossed the finish line for some very competitive programs.
Well today I dug in and implemented just that feature — you’ll be able to see the moment of your finish displayed in your icon window. But I went one better for individuals, you’ll be notified exactly when you’ve crossed a finish line in one of your map-based competitions right from the Add Steps screen. See the picture below.
