Introducing Danny Cook – our Impactful Account Executive

Walker Tracker has grown a lot in the past year: new wellness challenges, new customers, new relationships, and new team members. Danny Cook is one of those new team members, and he’s made quite a difference. By day, Danny is an impactful Account Executive who focuses on relationship building, turnkey customers, and efficient communication. By night, his focus shifts to bass, treble, and rhythm.

Welcome Danny!

While passion, balance, and fitness are associated with being healthy and happy, Danny Cook’s days before Walker Tracker were often filled with stress and frustration. “I had gotten to a point in my career in retail management that drove me to being uncomfortable, and I really wanted a job that catered to my schedule. I’ve always told my fiance that when I became a dad, I wanted a job that would allow me to show up to our kids soccer games.”

One day, as Danny worked a door to door sales job in North Portland, he decided enough was enough. “I was in Cathedral Park, and I parked under the St. John’s Bridge. I told myself that I was not leaving this parking lot until I find the job that is best suited for me.” Six hours later, Danny found Walker Tracker through Angel’s List and applied to an Account Executive position. “The position was right up my alley. At that point in my fitness journey, I’d be able to help people and use my sales experience in the best way that I can.” His story resonated with Walker Tracker leadership, who quickly hired him. This has proven to be a wise move – Danny’s sales acumen and attention to detail have been welcome additions to our Sales department, while his enthusiasm and friendliness have enriched the culture of our team.

When he’s off the clock, this former drummer likes to tap into his sense of sound and creativity. “I’ve always been involved in music through bands and my church. I’ve always enjoyed the process of writing music, as it’s kept me creative. So, I just bought a bunch of gear and learned how to make beats on the computer. It really allows me to sit there for hours and get creative, and put something into my computer that I thought of and I like to listen to.”

We had a chance to ask Danny a few fun questions. Here is what he had to say:

What is the last book you read?

Can’t Hurt Me by David Goggins, one of the best reads ever.

What things do you like to do to stay physically active?

I walk at least one mile every day. Other than that, I hope to get a spin bike, then I will be doing spin a lot. It’s my favorite exercise activity.

What are three things on your bucket list.

I knocked one out a couple of years ago by going to Europe for Oktoberfest. The remaining things are: going to a Formula 1 race in Monaco, getting my pilots license, and  I’d also love to travel to New Zealand.

What’s been your favorite place to travel to?

Munich, Germany is the coolest place, the coolest city. The vibe in the city, the people, everything about the city was just perfection to me. I would move there in a heartbeat.

If you won the lottery, what is the first thing you’d do with the money?

I would make sure everyone who is close to me did not have to work a day in their life, then I would invest the rest.

Could you share a fun fact about yourself?

I lived in Mexico for many years building homes and churches for families and communities who’ve experienced hardship and were unable to afford it.
