The Department of Health and Human Services is sponsoring a grant to support schools in low-income income areas to adopt the USDA’s Healthier US School Challenge.  Five grants of $5000 will be available to public schools with a low-income population of 80% or greater, as well as to non-profit organizations that apply on behalf of a school of similar qualifications.   Projects will involve the school community as well as the students, and will include an evaluation and a plan for future activities beyond the grant award period.
