Position: Full-stack developer 

About Us: 

Walker Tracker is a Portland-based SaaS company. Through our online portals and mobile apps we work with nonprofits, schools, municipalities, and corporations to run engaging, motivational, and fun activity and wellness initiatives. Our intent is that by helping our clients increase employee wellness they will decrease their health-care costs and create a culture of wellbeing making the commitment to health and fitness, simple and fun. Our software integrates with most major pedometers (Fitbit, Misfit, Garmin, etc.) and apps (Google Fit, Apple Health, MyFitnessPal, etc.)

Full-stack developer – Laravel / VueJS

We are looking for a Full Stack Developer to work on our SaaS app on a contract / contract-to-hire basis.

We’re a small Portland, Oregon-based team at a revenue-funded startup with awesome opportunities. This position is ideal for someone with a strong work ethic, an inner-sense of quality control, and ability (and desire) to really own a project.

One of the original ‘quantified self’ companies, Walker Tracker runs wellness challenges for communities, universities, Fortune 100 companies, and resellers.

SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS

3+ years PHP
3+ years MySQL with an eye for query performance and scalability
Laravel / Lumen
VueJS
Familiarity with AWS services
Deep object-oriented programming experience
Excellent knowledge of QA practices and Unit testing
Command line experience
Composer PHP Dependency Manager
HTML5, CSS, & Pug knowledge (We use the Bulma css library)
Principles of responsive design knowledge
JavaScript
Git (branching, merging, etc.)
Docker and VMs
Ability to interact daily with technical and non-technical team members
Self-directed and capable of working in a fast-paced environment
English fluency
Excellent verbal/written communication, presentation, customer service, and analytical skills

Bonus Qualifications:

Knowledge/experience with scaling (Caching, Message/Queue systems, etc)
Code security and data security best practices
Working with external APIs
Documenting APIs
Data analytics (We love the quote: “That which is measured, improves.” It applies to what we do, and we want to get better at *how* we do it)
