Profile

a Watcher's Wife, Norm, the pastor's spouse.

NOW
Its 2009 and I've come out of a valley I slowly drifted into back in that December; essentially I'm back at where I started.  But already the regimen is starting to stick, I'm feeling better, and results are slowing becoming evident. Adding to watcher's, the role of pastor's wife, my life is yet busier while I look to going back to school.  Meanwhile I've added photography to my hobbies which goes well with walking!

BEFORE
In February 2007, I seriously began to change my lifestyle for health.  I wanted to lose weight and be free of the blood pressure and cholesterol concerns that had developed.  I began with Spark.com 2/9 - the history of all that is on that site.  In that time through to about July I lost ~22 pounds and since that I've been scalewise marking time; however measurements would reveal work is ongoing - I particularly like that I've dropped 3 sizes.

We have a weider home gym - I developed a flexible exercise program and in May i participated in the women's health challenge.  I walked from Alaska to Hawaii virtually - that was my in-road to walking.  I received a monitor and began to track my steps.  I also found this site. Walking is now a constant and focal (we'll see that continue in colder weather) part of my program.  I touched my initial goal weight once 177 and am working my way down to 160. I've moved from inactive (below 5000 steps) to an active person - walkertracker only reflects my steps - some days there is additional biking, exercise, etc.

I use several tools - here for step tracking, fitday along with dietfacts(which I particularly love because it is able to populate information into fitday) for tracking my food; and to track my measurements spark.com (they just recently added some new trackability in this regard) and fit together (which is very comprehensive and does comparisons ).  My requirements were to use free, flexible and effective programs.  Also I refer to MapMyWalk.com to get the goods on my strolls.  These are what I settled on - there are many out there - ask me if you want info.

My husband, min comrade, and I are in this together looking extend our lifespan and thus our time with each other while we sojourn here.
