farmer's market plus a night walk brought the steps almost up to goal

A pleasant walk through Forest Hill Cemetery on my way home, which was an out of the way direction but still very nice.  Lots of old Ann Arbor family names there, and it's a remarkably quiet perspective on the surrounding hospital and dormitory life. 

Working through the day on what seems like 1000 things all up in different parts of the air.

It was a day of the bicycle, not of walking, so while I was out a lot I didn't get in as many steps.  Gee, you can cover a lot more ground on a bicycle.

Total score at the ReUse Center: $3 spent for an RCA cable to hook up a TV plus a mini-USB charger for my phone.  There are so many cables and wires there that I should purge the house of anything not needed and just go back for whatever I need.

Swapped seed potatoes for fresh chives, hoping that the potatoes grow well in their new home.

My 3d grader walked to the store and to the ice cream shop on his own - another good step of independence for the summer.

Lots and lots of thunderstorms today in the area.  Most of them went to the north and west of here, but that didn't stop it from being a day full of figuring out how to keep redundant network connections in the face of interruptable everything.

I found the vendor at Farmer's Market that sells pea shoots, but we got there at about noon and they had sold out by 10:30am.  At 18 days to maturity I think Gardenworks will figure it out and have enough for demand before too long.

Lost keys relocated - my keys have a YMCA tag on them, the owner of Downtown Home and Garden looked them up after I left them there, all set and good to go.  Whew.

A few of these steps were used retracing previous steps looking for a set of keys that were lost.  Nice to get out and about.

Lunch at a2b3 was 30 people.  @bigeasy was in from New Orleans on vacation, and Sid is looking for a partner for bridge in a game that isn't as competitive as the cut-throat tournament level play at the City Club.

AM: GooglEarthDay at U Michigan SNRE.  Great presentations on geospatial data modeling using KML, including one from Tyler Erickson which included a slide on our parking structure monitoring application.

Not as many steps as the previous few days, due to an afternoon spent working from home sitting on the couch catching up on correspondence.

Up early, up late, and I'm exhausted.

Working on learning GeoRSS this evening, using the Michigan-Ohio resurvey of 1915 as the test data set and use case.  I don't know how walkable the area is.

It would have been a good day to go for a walk in a metropark today.  A spring rain meant lots of puddles but no downpour and just enough clouds breaking near sunset to make it feel like twilight.

Early to bed, early to rise I hope.

6011 at 2pm solar time.   I hit 10000 for a brief walk out in the night cold rain up and down the street.

Birthday party at the Exhibit Museum was a big hit for kids and parents.  You cannot believe how much noise a group of children can make when they are running to find the sabre tooth tiger fossil.

15208 at 23:04.  Bought my pedometer at CVS yesterday, this is the first full day of it.  Lovely day in Ann Arbor.

Solar noon here is 1:34pm or so, which means that if you followed the sun you'd be up late and in bed late.  I'm oh so tempted to set pedometer time to solar time, not civil time.

The image is the morel mushroom progression map for April 8-15 2009 for Michigan; should be a good time to be in the field looking for mushrooms.

so far today at 3pm; obvious the next thing to do is walk.  nice day.
