Happy birthday to DS Dave - 20 today!!  Pic of birthday boy with his girlfriend, Grace.  Going out to dinner with them tonight.  Went to Slug & Lettuce the other day for lunch - tonight we're going to The Snail.  Interesting choice of names!
Drilling again - they promised that they will be  finished today.
Woohoo!!!!!  Ben's book has arrived - next on my reading list.  Hope it's good, Ben!
The drilling has finished; they've filled in the whole & re-opened the road - peace at last!!!!
Lovely meal - had a mixture of baked fish (haddok, swordfish, scallops, bass & salmon) with mixed veg, followed by banoffee pie.

Happy birthday, Dave! I do believe I used to have a dress like the one Grace is wearing. Sigh. Loonnnng time ago. What a handsome couple they are, too. I think I would like to eat lunch at the Slug & Lettuce and dinner at the Snail! What fun... And the book arrived? I thought they said December???

Slug and Lettuce?  The Snail?  Are these slow places to eat vegetarian food at?

Admittedly, service at Slug & lettuce is a little slow, but the food is good. - never been the The Snail.  Both cater for carnivores too.

As for Ben's book - I was very surprised when it arrived - message on Amazon definitely said December.  I cut & pasted it from there to my WT page!

Nice looking young man you have there Sue! I am glad the drilling has stopped. They just got done doing our roof at work and I am glad that noise has stopped.

I love those restaurant names!

Happy Birthday, Dave!  Grace is a babe!  Dave probably is too but I wouldn't know.  The fish sounds wonderful.  I'll have to round some up this weekend for myself.  Great steps, Sue.  OK, out with it--just what is banoffee pie?  Don't tell me it's banana and coffee!  C'mon--without any chocolate?  You have to have chocolate to act as a catalyst for banana and coffee as any good chemist knows.  And dark chocolate at that.

Banoffee pie is banana & toffee - yummy!!  This one had toffe on a biscuit base topped with sliced bananas - alas, no chocolate.  A lot of the commercial ones have the banana & toffee mixed together.
I enjoyed the fish - I've never had swordfish before.  Must admit I wasn't over keen on the scallops, but it was the first time I'd eaten them as well.
