Had to work until 3 a.m. last night.  Bleh, but I need the overtime badly. Got my blood tests today. I took the bus to save time so no exercise.

Went for a long walk with Brad along a paved trail before work - about 6.8 miles.

I have gained weight over the holidays - something I have managed to avoid before.  The holidays end for me in another week after my birthday, but I will be on track this week.

I walked up to the bus only to find that the bus is only running once an hour since today is a holiday. I had forgotten to take my vitamins so I walked back home and took them and then walked back to the bus. At any rate, I got to the gym late so I got out late.

I went to the gym and did 45 minutes of weight training, 30 minutes on the elliptical, and 15 on the stationary bike. I decided not to take BART since I figured I missed the 2 o'clock train so I took the bus into work. I was nearly a half hour late. I should have taken the train.

Walked to the laundromat and back (16 minutes each way), then up to the bank and health food store and back(8 minutes each way), then down to the train station (30 minutes), then from my stop to work (30-35 minutes).

Worked a short shift (6 hours) and got off at 9 pm to enjoy the new year.

I need to do more cardio to get this extra weight off.  I did 45 minutes of weight training today instead of 1 hour, followed my 45 minutes of cardio instead of 30 minutes.  I did 20 minutes of running at 5.0 mph, 10 minutes at 5.2+ mph, and 15 minutes of walking at 3.5. I walked to work from my train stop of course.

My pedometer died today halfway through the first of two hour-long walks Brad and I did so I lost a bunch of steps.  Here's what I remember, plus steps taken after I changed the battery.

Even with the pedometer foul up I still made my monthly step goal today.  :)

Have to work a half shift today (and tomorrow) which are normally my days off. I walked down to BART, took the train, and walked from my stop to work - 1 hour total and 3.1 miles.

Clear and windy today. I opened presents this morning.

Then I walked from my house to the train, took the train, then walked from the train to work.  Yup, I'm working Christmas Day.  Brad and I had a small Christmas dinner at work.

I'm working a half shift on my days off - tomorrow and Saturday, so this is a 7 days week for me.  Then back to my regular schedule on Sunday.  Ah well. I need the overtime badly.

Walked up to the bank, down to the laundromat, then back up to my house, then down to the train station and finally from my stop to work - about 5.3 miles total - whew!  Thankfully the rain held off. I wanted to make my 10 million step goal today (and I did - yea me!), but needed to do a lot of walking and rain would ruin that.

Yippee!  10 Million steps achieved.  My Christmas present to myself.  :)

Went to the gym again today.  Did mostly lower body weight training followed by 31 minutes on the elliptical. I walked to work from the train station, and was running early so I went for a 20 minute walk in the neighborhood I work in.

Did one hour of weight training today and 30 minutes of cardio doing various things on the treadmill, trying to get the darn heart rate programs to work.  I finally gave up and spent the last 10 or 15 minutes running at about 5.2 mph.

Starting today I am cutting out most sugar. I'll allow myself a little bit on Christmas because I allow myself to have egg nog once a year, and a little on Saturdays. I have cookies for dessert on Christmas, but the only sugar in them is the applesauce I used in place of butter.

I feel like crap today from all the crap I ate yesterday.  I haven't binged like that in a while!  Wow.

It's raining, but not hard, so Brad and I went for a long walk in the woods (somewhat paved, not muddy, and the trees give protection from the wind and rain). We had umbrellas.  I'm too sick to go to the gym, but I have to get steps from being so low the last two days, and need to start burning off all the carbs I ate yesterday.

Today is meat only, except that I had two pieces of bread to settle my tummy. Tomorrow I will add the veggies and salads back in.

I'm redoing last week's cleanse. I have another cleanse kit. Today is the last day of the previous cleanse so I will start it again tomorrow.

I'm going on a diet starting tomorrow and cutting out almost all sugar. I can't cut out all carbs (I would like to) but I am starting to feel better with the iron in the Cream of Wheat, so I am keeping that.

Today is my last hurrah binging on sugar. I am re-addicted and have to put an end to it.  :-p

After binging yesterday I am more or less fasting today - just not hungry.  Sunday I am cutting out all sugar. I am re-addicted and must break that addiction again.

Today I am cooking stuff for Christmas - cauliflower potatoes and sugar-free oatmeal cookies.
